Venom is a symbiote originating from Klyntar, currently bonded with Eddie Brock.
Biography[]
Venom[]
Venom originated on the planet Klyntar,[2] where he was considered a "loser". At some point, he found his way on to an asteroid with a number of other symbiotes, where they were subsequently found by astronauts employed by the Life Foundation and taken back to Earth, crash landing. Venom was contained, before being bonded in containment with Maria. However, she wasn't a good host, and after she was saved by Eddie Brock, she attacked him and Venom transferred to Eddie.[3]
After members of the Life Foundation found Eddie, attempting to subdue him and take the symbiote, the symbiote helped him fight back, before they escaped. It helped Eddie ride a motorcycle, fixing his broken limbs when he crashed. Eventually being knocked off the bike, the symbiote enveloped Eddie in order to pick up the perpetrator, a Life Foundation thug.[2] Venom was interrupted by another mercenary who shot him in the back. Annoyed Venom threw Treece away and devoured the gunman's head whole. When the police arrive, he escape by running away and went into the water. Once he swam into a anchored float, Venom talked to Eddie about who he is but most importantly he tells him that he needs Carlton Drake's rocket in order to come into contact with his species and take over Earth. Eddie accepted Venom's deal despite his disgust on biting people's heads off.[3]
Noticing his phone is ringing, Venom asked Eddie who is Anne but Eddie tells him not to say anything about his personal life. Eddie went to his former place of work but a former colleague stops him from entering. Venom wanted to kill Eddie's former colleague and eat his brain but Eddie walked away so that he couldn't. Venom decided to take his full form to access the tower and found out that Eddie's world was beautiful and was ashamed that it has to die, suddenly an airplane passes by and the sound resonated too high that Venom was temporary neutralized. Eddie fell off the building but Venom managed to regain his senses and caught him and threw him through Jack's window so that Eddie could place all the evidence against Carlton Drake. Venom asked him to jump off the window but Eddie decided to use an elevator to which Venom was in complete dismay.[3]
When they arrive downstairs, a S.W.A.T team tried to arrest Eddie but he warned them not to fight, the S.W.A.T. were constructed to put on masked to which Eddie decided to let Venom take control and defeat the whole S.W.A.T team. Venom lifted one of them up and attempted to devour him, only for Anne to show up to see Eddie as Venom. After she was calmed from seeing him, Anne took Eddie to the hospital, Venom tells Eddie that he must express his feelings to her after all he's done to her, Anne accepted his apology.[3]
At the hospital, Dan and Anne told Eddie that the "parasite" is killing him and Venom did not like to be called like and tried to kill Dan but Anne activated the ultrasound and made Venom unbonded with Eddie. After Eddie left, Anne and Dan were talking if Eddie would ever be okay, Venom took the opportunity to get out the room he was held in by the going through a fan, ending up on another room where he finds a dog to bond with. When Eddie was kidnapped by the Life Foundation, Venom found Anne noticing the kidnap and decided to bond with her.[3]
Together the two managed to save Eddie from being executed by Drakes men where Anne transferred Venom back to Eddie with a kiss. The two then went to stop Drake and his symbiote Riot from bringing the rest of his race back to earth to destroy humanity. While Eddie and Venom put up a decent fight Drake and Riot proved to be and absorbed Eddie and Venom into themselves. However before they could board the ship Anne managed to separate them by activating a high pitched sound which separated Eddie and Drake from their respective symbiotes. Eddie seemed to defeat Drake but Riot reattached himself to Drake just in time and seemingly managed to fatally stab Eddie. However Venom fortunately returned just in time and bonded with Eddie saving his life and using the blade Riot stabbed him with to destroy the rocket, killing both Drake and Riot.[3]
Venom then seemingly sacrificed himself protecting Eddie from the flames and heat of the explosion. Later, Venom survived from the fire and rebonded with Eddie. He established to Venom that he would only be allowed to hurt, maim, or eat bad people. When stopping by Ms. Chen's store to get some food, Eddie and Venom found her getting mugged and Venom correctly guessing the mugger was a bad guy. Venom apprehends the mugger and proceeded to eat him. After saving Ms. Chen, the two went on their way.[3]
Venom: Let There Be Carnage[]
In the present day, Mulligan, now a detective, contacts Eddie Brock to speak to Cletus Kasady, a serial killer who refuses to talk to anyone other than Brock. After the visit, Brock is able to figure out where Kasady has hidden the body of victims, which gives him a huge career boost. Kasady, who is sentenced to lethal injection, invites Brock to attend his execution. However, Venom is provoked to attack Kasady via insults towards Brock. Kasady bites Brock's hand, ingesting a small part of the symbiote. Brock is contacted by his ex-fiancée Anne Weying, who tells him that she is now engaged to Dr. Dan Lewis. [4]

Meanwhile, Venom, wanting more freedom to eat bad guys whenever he wants, has an argument with Brock after Anne's announcement and detaches from his body; they go their different ways, with the both of them wishing they never met each other. Venom enjoys time at the outside world going out in parties - finally being able to enjoy time - but is incredibly saddened Eddie is not there to witness him, jumping from host to host. In Ravencroft, Kasady frees Barrison, and they travel to their old children's home to burn it down after he is freed from prison, by his own symbiote. [4]
Venom has to make his way through San Francisco by hopping from body to body, until he eventually lands up in Ms. Chen's body, where he discovers how Brock is in trouble as Cletus has his own symbiote. Despite being deeply worried about his companion, Venom decides to not head back towards Eddie, as he still wanting a proper apology from him, for calling him worthless. Weying finds him in Ms. Chen's body and convinces him to forgive Brock, and help him, by complimenting him. Anne briefly bonds with Venom and breaks Brock out of the police station, after which Brock and Venom make amends and bond again. [4]
Venom and Eddie struggle to overpower Carnage with Cletus but they learns that Carnage and Kasady are not cohesive as Carnage attacks Barrison for using her powers. Venom provokes Barrison to use her powers again; her sonic blast causes both symbiotes to separate from their hosts as the cathedral collapses and a falling bell kills Barrison. Venom saves Brock by bonding with him before the impact. Carnage tries to bond with Kasady again, but Venom devours the symbiote, killing it. Kasady states that he only wanted Brock to be a friend, but Venom bites Kasady’s head off. [4]
While Brock, Venom, Weying, and Lewis escape, a still-living Mulligan's eyes flash blue. Brock and Venom decide to take a tropical vacation while they ponder their next steps. As Venom tells Brock about the symbiotes' knowledge of other universes, a blinding light transports them from their hotel room to another room where they watch J. Jonah Jameson reveal Spider-Man's identity as Peter Parker on television. [4]
Brock is in a bar and is asking the bartender about the avengers mentioning the big green one (hulk) and the one in a flying tin suit that died (iron man). Brock is drunk and Venom thinks they should skinny dip to which Brock disagrees much to the bartender's confusion. Venom says that they should go see this Spiderman at which point Doctor strange spell activates sending Brock and Venom home with Venom complaining that they had only just got here. However, a tiny piece of venom is left behind and wiggles before screen cuts to black.

Personality[]
The Venom symbiote was initially bloodthirsty and cruel; frequently mocking Eddie, openly considering him nothing but a vehicle for it to use to accomplish its mission, and consuming him from the inside-out, but over time it starts to genuinely care about him and even loving him. Despite being cruel and sadistic, it is childish, cheerful and boisterous as it cheers on at the fact that it defeated Treece and his men, which it suggested to Eddie that they should bite all their heads off and pile them in a corner.
It is honest to the point of being brutal, when it was questioned by Eddie if it's going to eat anyone else, and it says most likely to him. It also can be reasonable at times as it makes a deal with Eddie to help it to get to Drake's rocket, and even says it to him. Tired of being looked down upon by the other members of its kind, who had considered it a runt. Venom came to empathize with Eddie's status as a "loser", eventually deciding to turn on its own kind and save the Earth from being invaded.
The symbiote ultimately agreed to work alongside Eddie as a vigilante, to only hurt bad people despite its own confusion of how it can tell the difference of who is good or bad.[5] Impressed by Anne Weying, the symbiote attempted to help Eddie repair his relationship with her and - while bonded to Anne - influenced her into kissing him.
Venom also dislikes being addressed as a parasite, due to it being a vulgar insult on its homeworld. This is because Venom feels as though a symbiotic connection is meant to benefit both the host, and the symbiote, as they both power each other like a team. Venom hates other symbiotes like Riot who use their hosts as a mere means to live, seeing them as a disgrace to symbiotes.
Powers and abilities[]
Powers[]
- Symbiosis: Despite being weaker than other members of its species, Venom is a symbiotic being of black biomass, that affords its host a number of superhuman abilities; the host’s physical attributes (such as strength, durability, speed, agility and healing) are enhanced to considerable superhuman levels. The symbiote bonds to the host on a psychic, and sub-cellular level; not only does this allow it to amplify the host’s physical attributes, but it also allows the symbiote to copy the traits and abilities of said host, by interacting with their genetic code.
- Symbiotic Suit Manifestation: Whilst bonded to Eddie, the symbiote can emerge from his body; enveloping the host's body with black biomass. The symbiote biomass acts as a malleable, highly resilient, full-body combat suit; Venom's full body suit emulates that of its Human host. When enveloped in the suit, Eddie's physical attributes are greatly enhanced, amplifying his strength, durability, speed, agility and reflexes to superhuman levels; far beyond that of any normal Human. The symbiote suit also affords the host wickedly sharp fangs and claws.
- Superhuman Strength: The symbiote enhances Eddie's physical strength to superhuman levels, allowing him to effortlessly overpower adversaries and lift objects many times his own weight. With this strength, Eddie can crush steel, shatter concrete, and tear through reinforced barriers with ease.
- Enhanced Agility: The symbiote will increase the host’s reflexes, agility, balance and bodily coordination; as a result, Eddie is far more agile than any normal Human, and is able to move, pounce and climb with an animalistic agility. The symbiote allows the host to run and move with superhuman speed and athleticism, Eddie is able to easily perform acrobatic and gymnastic stunts, and can keep up with and outmanoeuvre other symbiotes.
- Superhuman Speed: The symbiote will increase the host’s speed and athleticism to superhuman levels; as a result, Eddie is able to run and move at extremely high-speeds. The symbiote allows Eddie to suddenly appear and disappear from sight, quickly scale up the sides of buildings, swiftly catch up to and dispatch enemies, and outpace moving vehicles.
- Genetic Memory: By bonding on a sub-cellular level, the symbiote is able to inherit the abilities from any host it achieves symbiosis with; as a result, any adopted traits and abilities can be utilised by future hosts, however the abilities are superior due to the effects of the symbiote.
- Superhuman Senses:
- Superhuman Durability: The symbiote provides Eddie with a high degree of resistance to physical and energy-based attacks, making him nearly invulnerable to harm. He can withstand bullets, explosions, and powerful impacts without sustaining significant damage.
- Superhuman Stamina:
- Accelerated Healing Factor: The symbiote grants Eddie an accelerated healing factor, enabling him to recover from injuries at an astonishing rate, making him virtually immune to conventional forms of injury and enhancing his longevity.
- Wall-Crawling:
- Constituent-Matter Generation:
- Constituent-Matter Manipulation: Venom is capable of extending its biomass into tentacles and forming shields, though it lacks the advanced shapeshifting powers of other symbiotes, such as Riot.
Abilities[]
- Photographic Memory: Venom poesseses a photographic memory as seen by how he was able to recreate the drawings from Cletus Kassady's prison cell just from some glimpses.
- Advanced Intelligence: As a symbiote, Venom possesses greater intelligence than most species on earth. He also withholds 80-billion-light-years of hive-knowledge that expands across the Multiverse, which is also shared with all other members of his species. A notable example of this is shown when Venom recognizes Peter Parker when he and Eddie witnessed Spider-Man’s identity being exposed on television, implying that the two had crossed paths numerous, unspecified times beforehand.
- Multilingual: Venom can speak English, Mandarin, and Japanese.
