An upcoming film will be directed by Olivia Wilde, to be released by Sony Pictures. It will be set in Sony's Spider-Man Universe.

Production

In August 2020, Sony Pictures signed on Olivia Wilde to develop and direct a female-centric Marvel film, with her writing partner Katie Silberman penning the script, Amy Pascal producing, and Rachel O'Connor executive producing. The project had been a high priority at the studio since early 2020, and was believed to feature the character Spider-Woman.
